Review

SimCity 4 is a city building simulation game created by Maxis under Electronic Arts (EA) license. It is the fourth episode in the SimCity series and originally was released on 2003. It has a single expansion pack known as Rush Hour which adds additional features to the game. But the Deluxe Edition contains the original game and Rush Hour combined as a single product.

Players have the role of a mayor or several, that have the task of populating and developing lands into cities, while fulfilling the needs of fellow Sims that live in the cities. Cities are located in regions that are divided into segments, each of which can be developed.

There are two game Modes:

God Mode, allows players to design or mold a selected piece of land where the city will be built. It also enables players to trigger disasters, including tornados and earthquakes as well as the area where it will occur and even control the direction.

Mayor Mode is where the actual city building is conducted. Players can build transportation networks, including roads, streets, avenues, highways, railways, subway lines, and bus stations. Areas of land in this mode can be zoned as residential, commercial or industrial areas where the city will begin to grow.

As of this day, the developer's support for this game has ended, and the game is only distributed through unofficial stores.
Advantages
  • Good graphics.
  • Regional gameplay.
  • Terrain modeling.
Disadvantages
  • Has bugs that can make the game freeze.
